Final Exam

I was able to learn a lot of important skills in this class. Some of these things include good studying and test-taking habits, how to make videos on websites like prezi.com and biteable.com, and I learned about apps such as Google Drawings and Google Keep. Before taking this class, I had never even heard of Google Forms or Google Drawings. We received and completed our work through blogspot.com. It is simple and easy to use. Some of the other things that we did include working together on group projects. On one occasion, we all had to make a Google Slides presentation about preparing for tests. We are also given the opportunity to visit our classmates blogs. We also made quizzes on Kahoot and Quizlet. We made posters and flyers on apps like smore.com and postermywall.com. We learned how to study with mind mapping and Cornell notes. We also learned how to avoid plagiarism and other forms of cheating. We also learned ways to improve our focus. We learned how to manage our time w

Darth Sidious     The man who would become Darth Sidious  was born to an influential family on the planet Naboo as Sheev Palpatine. Not much is known about his early life. It is known that he was eventually found by the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis and became his apprentice. Together, they discovered how to create life with midi-chlorians, as well as how to transfer their consciousness into other bodies. Palpatine followed a career in politics, and soon became Naboo's senator. As Darth Sidious, he took it upon himself to create a new Sith Empire and destroy the Jedi Order. Sidious traveled to the planet Dathomir and took an infant Zabrak to be his apprentice. However, this broke the Rule of Two, which stated that there can only be two Sith Lords at a time. To keep this law, Sidious betrayed his master, murdering him in his sleep. He trained the Zabrak in the ways of the Dark Side and named him Darth Maul. He trained Maul to be a very powerful warrior. Sidious also influenced very power

End of First Semester

New SMART goal-     Maintain good grades throughout the next quarter. Specific:  Maintain a 90% average or higher on my assignments and tests in the third quarter. Measurable:  My grades can be viewed on both Renweb and on my report cards. Actionable:  I can do this by studying, by paying attention in class, and by managing my time wisely. Relevant:  Doing this can help me get into college and find a good job. Time-bound: I must keep this up until the end of the third quarter.      I am proud of how the second quarter went. I am satisfied with my grades in all of my classes. I feel that I have done a good job of keeping up with my assignments in Applied Study Skills and Technology. I feel that I did a good job in English, especially in writing my informative essay. I am still a student aid for Mr. Hackbarth in third period, and I am becoming much more comfortable with the setting there. I also feel that I am doing well with the content and verse quizzes in Bible. I now have a much bett

Darth Nihilus, Lord of Hunger     The human who would eventually become Darth Nihilus lost everything to the Jedi during the Mandalorian Wars: his friends, familiy, and his will to live. He then joined the Sith, wanting only to die in battle. Nihilus was fighting in the last battle of the Mandalorian Wars on Malachor V when it was struck by a Republic superweapon. This weapon was a Mass Shadow Generator, and it killed almost everyone on the planet. Nihilus survived the attack, but it caused him great pain. His pain manifested as an intense emotional hunger within him. He tried to sate his hunger by draining the life force of another survivor. This helped to sate his hunger, but only for a short time. He went about the planet and consumed the life force of every last survivor. The more he fed, the stronger his hunger became. He was eventually discovered by Darth Traya. Traya offered to help Nihilus be able to devour entire worlds to appease his hunger. Nihlus agreed and followed her t

Darth Sion, Lord of Pain     Darth Sion was a Sith Lord in the time of the Old Sith Wars. He fought as a marauder under the command of Exar Kun. Eventually, Sion was killed in battle, but he did not die. He was able to use the dark side of the Force to keep himself alive, but doing so caused him unimaginable pain. He used this pain to become angry and, being a Sith Lord, used his anger to draw power from the dark side. This process practically made Sion immortal. In his wars with the Jedi, Sion survived many injuries that would have been fatal for anyone else. Exar Kun's empire eventually fell, but Sion survived and went into hiding. He reemerged at the end of the Mandalorian Wars, when a new Sith Empire was created by Darth Revan and his apprentice, Darth Malak. Sion joined the Sith Empire, but it too fell into ruin. Revan turned to the light side of the Force and killed Darth Malak. Darth Sion fled to the planet Korriban and watched as the remaining Sith ripped each other apart

How To Prepare For Exams: Part Two

  1. Plan before you study- You shouldn't just jump in to your studies like it's a race. Take the time to sit down and create a study plan that divides up the time before your exams among your subjects.  2. Prepare for the last day- The last day before your exams should be your final revisions. Remember to mark down the most important things in your textbooks, and to be smart and efficient with your time. 3. Positive auto-suggestions- Whether you realize it or not, we tell ourselves negative things throughout the day. This can lead to you being very nervous and failing. The positive auto-suggestion technique is meant to counter this. It helps you to say more positive things to yourself so that you can stay calm. If you prepare your mind to succeed, you probably will. 4. Imagine when it's over- You should do this as you are studying for your exams. Just close your eyes and imagine the moment when your exams are over. This simple trick can keep you motivated and cheerful. 5.

How To Prepare For Exams

In the month leading up to your final exams, make sure that you are caught up on all of your assigned work. Remember to take very thorough notes. Do not cram all of your studying until the last second. Instead, study from 60-90 minutes each day. Creating and completing a mock test is very helpful as well. You can do this by looking in your textbooks for questions that didn't get answered in your class. Try to complete your mock test without using your textbook or notes. Try not to multitask while you are studying. If you have any questions about what will be on the test, remember to ask your teacher for help.      https://www.stlawu.edu/academic-support/how-should-i-prepare-tests-and-final-exams
