Google Arts and Culture

Google Arts and Culture is a collection of stories and slideshows that can tell you a lot about history, places, art, and culture.

Serengeti National Park

By viewing the slideshow, I learned that Serengeti is a scenic and biodiverse place in the two African countries of Kenya and Tanzania. Because it is a wildlife sanctuary, the park contains two million wildebeests, 900,000 Thompson's gazelles, 300,000 zebras, 4,000 lions, 3,500 spotted hyenas, 1,000 leopards, 300 wild dogs, 225 cheetahs, and more than 500 species of birds. The park is a home to several endangered animals as well, including the rhinoceros, elephant, wild dog, cheetah, and the leopard. Serengeti National Park is also the site of the largest remaining unaltered animal migration in the world, in which a million wildebeests travel a 1,000km long annual trek.
